    Description

Early 1930's  "Empire" brand, hand-held, electric pressing device - still in the original box, made by Empire Electric Co., 817 Main St, Cincinnati, Ohio.  There are other versions of this box on ebay that bear the original foil sticker from the 1933 / 1934 "Century of Progress" World's Fair held in Chicago, Illinois. There is no sticker on this box.   I think this box was sold in early 1930's and before the Fair.  The Factory Guarantee number is also much lower than the Pressers having the Fair sticker, which further supports my theory of early 1930's.  It comes with the original illustrated instructions and paperwork to get the 1 year Guarantee.   Interesting it says the Presser is "For use on 110 to 120 volt A. C. and D. C. Current."  The box has great graphics, and measures 11 1/2 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide, by 1 1/2 inches deep. The box does have some water stains (see photos).  Old style plug-this is being sold as a display item and should not be plugged into an electric outlet.  It looks as if the Presser has never been used.  Engraved in the metal part of the  Presser is the Empire name and Cincinnati.  Something a little different for your collection! A nice piece of history to preserve, display and enjoy.  Only early version of this product on ebay.
