A pair of authentic hand made high desert moccasins hand crafted by the maker from ethically harvested brain tanned and smoked bull Elk hide, with 4 layer soles. The first two layers of the inner soles were made from brain tanned elk hide, the 3rd and primary outer sole was made from bull elk rump rawhide and the 4th and final outer layer of the sole was made from hard vegetable tanned Bull rump hide that came from an ethically harvested local 15yr old free range Corriente bull. Leather sealed and waterproofed traditionally by the maker in tallow and bees wax.
The high desert variant of traditional Moccasins were designed for the high desert for both deep sand and snow. Feature a curved toe and toe hook to keep the wearers toe above the deep sand or snow and can be worn with flaps down with it’s lacing wrapping around the ankle several times creating a low top or with the flaps folded up and secured with the lacing creating a high top boot.
