Native American Plateau Jingle Bob Dress

Description

Mid 20th century Native American Plateau tribe jingle dress. We are not sure of tribal affiliation. Piece is made of a charcoal grey silk like fabric, with large rainbow colored sequined designs on front. Central design is floral with purple heart in the center, surrounded by rainbow colored chevrons. Color is decorated by rainbow colored flags across top. Back of dress has two mirrored designs of the front across top. Bells cones are made of snuff can lids and are attached to dress in a tight horizontal and straight pattern. Dress is in great condition, does have some staining on white linings of bell attachments and white hem of dress. Some stitching needs to be redone along cuffs of sleeves. Zipper is fully functional. Great piece for display in a Native American or indigenous collection. Would look great laid out in a shadowbox or on a mannequin. Dress is in good enough condition that it could easily be restored for continued use. Size: 46"H x 27" at widest width
