    Description

    5x7” matte finish photo signed in red ink at lower left: To Dawne / Best Always, / Merv Griffin.  Notated on the reverse by the original owner Dawne Ellis who wrote to movie and television stars throughout the 1940s into the early 1960s. Notation includes her name, Griffin’s name and date of June 10, 1953.  Photo reverse carries JSA sticker with serial number matching the serial number on the James Spence Authentication Basic Certification card which is included.  His 1940s singing career led to movie roles in the 1950s around the time he signed this photo and then
    from 1965 to 1986, Griffin hosted his own talk show,
    The Merv Griffin Show
