    Description

    Fascinating piece of US history- here is a set of documents from the 1964 Democratic National Convention.  There is a thick, bound Fact Book with all kind of information in it.  There is a biography of the President Lyndon B. Johnson and multiple other sections outlining the Democratic position on issues such as Foreign Policy and Education.  I found a section titled “GOP Negativity” showing that US politics hasn’t seemed to change much!  Also included is a booklet of the draft DNC Platform titled “One Nation, One People.”  The booklet discusses resolutions made in 1960 and the progress made on each.  Lastly, a contest card is included.  The Iowa Democrats apparently sponsored a contest based on the name of Iowa’s Roller Skating Mule name Kuasfid.  The back is stamped August 27, 1964 and Hotel Ambassador with a space to fill in words based on the mule’s name.  Your chance to win !
    This lot is not in pristine condition as I assume it was used by a convention participant.  The Fact Book has some ink on the edge as shown in the photos and the Platform booklet has some stains to the front cover.  No pages missing and definitely readable!  The contest card is in good shape with some creases but no tears.
