1982-1992 Third Generation F-Body Manual Brake Conversion Adpater Plate and Adjustable Pushrod Assembly  (Does NOT come with a master cylinder)
This F-Body manual brake conversion comes with:
6061-T6 ALUMINUM adapter plate w/ integrated pushrod retention cup
Matching Rubber Firewall Gasket - Keeps the cars interior sealed from the engine bay.
Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware - NO rusty bolts or nuts
Adjustable Pushrod Assembly - Engineered to work with and function in the 3rd Generation (1982-1992) F-body
1/8” Thick Firewall Stiffening Plate/Brace - A solution to a common 3rd Generation (1982-1992) F-body issue.  No more firewall flex.
Detailed (10 Page) Installation Manual.  Step by step process of the installation.
    Benefits:
6 to 1 Pedal Ratio - Creates less effort by the driver to stop the car and multiplies the fluid pressure in the system.  No other manual brake conversion kit can match this.
Dual Bolt Pattern on the Adapter Plate - Use GM, Ford, or MOPAR master cylinders.  No other manual brake conversion kit can do this.
Better pedal modulation for consistent braking - No low engine vacuum issues to worry about.
Firewall Bracing Plate - 1/8” Thick Plate Reduces Firewall Flex.  Other manual brake conversions charge you extra for this.
The adapter plate is CNC machined by a water jet from rigid 1/8” thick aluminum with dimensions that covers up the hole in the firewall after you remove the power booster. This modification will clean up your firewall by getting rid of the big, bulky power booster. Racers do this swap when their engine does not make enough vacuum to operate the power booster, to shed a few pound to make their car lighter, or to clean up the engine bay.
The pro-touring fans use manual brakes to get a better “feel” of their brakes when heading into a corner at a high rate of speed.
The adapter plate can also be polished up to a mirror finish if needed.
The firewall brace plate is CNC machined by a water jet from rigid 1/2" thick aluminum with dimensions that extend out over the contours of the stamped firewall to dramatically reduce the flex associated with third generation (1982-1992) F-body Camaros and Firebirds.
A 1/2 to 9/16 inch hole will have to be added to your firewall between the two upper holes that the vacuum booster bolted to.  The extra hole in the firewall allows for the high 6 to 1 pedal ratio.
A 31/64 inch hole will have to be drilled into the brake pedal arm to accept the supplied stud for the adjustable pushrod assembly which is normal for any manual brake kit you buy.

    Remember:
Higher Pedal Ratio = Less Leg Effort = Increased Braking Performance
Smaller Bore Master Cylinder = Higher Fluid Pressure = Increased Braking Performance
Kit comes with a gasket matched to the adapter plate to seal the passenger compartment from the engine bay.  The other kits do not offer a gasket in their kits.
Kit comes with a dual bolt pattern to run different master cylinders from GM, Ford, and MOPAR.  The other manual brakes kits do not have this feature.
Kit comes with a under dash brace that is included in the kit and reduces firewall flex dramatically.  The other manual brake kits offer this at an additional cost.
Kit comes with the correct size master cylinder that is matched to the size of the front and rear brakes.  The other manual brake kits offer a larger bore master cylinder which generates less brake line pressure.

    our F-body:
NON Low Drag Caliper (see below) - These type of calipers are manditory to work with the supplied 7/8" bore master cylinder.
New Rubber or Stainless Steel Flexible Brakes Lines (front and rear) - Old rubber lines will "balloon" causing loss of pressure within the braking system.
    LOW Drag Calipers
LOW drag calipers came on all third generation F-bodies with the standard (NON 1LE) front brake systems.  These same calipers came on 1982 -1988 G-bodies (Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass) and 1982-1997 S10 trucks and SUVs.
NON low drag calipers came on 1978-1981 G-bodies (Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass) and 1998-2003 S10 trucks and SUVs with the single piston front calipers.
Replacement part numbers are the same for all vehicles that use these calipers from 1978-2003.  They should be NON low drag and able to work with a strait bore master cylinder
    Brake Line Pressure Comparison
Leg Force     Pedal Ratio     Master Cylinder Bore     Caliper Piston Size     Clamping Force
    100               6 to 1               7/8" (0.875")                    2.5"
4898 lb of clamping force with a manualbrakes.com kit.
    100               5.5 to 1            1-1/32 (1.03")                  2.5"                             3240 lb of clamping force with other manual brake systems.
There is 34% more clamping force than any other other manual brake systems.
