This is a beautiful, still full blazing red, 1933
"Michigan"
State Souvenir Medal from the
"Century of Progress"
Exposition that was held in Chicago
from May 27, to November 12, 1933 and from
May 26, until October 31, in 1934
.
The theme of the fair was
"A Century of Human Progress"
from 1833 until 1933. And it was an amazing Century. The advent of electricity had really made a huge and permanent difference in all phases of human endeavor. The fair's motto was
"Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Conforms"
. The fair buildings were multi-colored, to create a
"Rainbow City"
in the then current
"Art Deco"
style.

The Medal:
A beautifully preserved piece. Someone put this one away early and it stayed put. It has a few light marks and it has toned gently but it is strictly original and has never been cleaned. As grading is subjective please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
